What is the heating principle of SUNLU dryers? Is it safe?

Our entire lineup utilizes PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient) ceramic heating elements paired with smart control chips. PTC technology is inherently self-regulating; as the temperature reaches the target, resistance increases and power consumption drops, preventing overheating. Additionally, our products feature built-in thermal cut-offs and multi-layer safety mechanisms, ensuring 24/7 reliability for long drying cycles.

What happens if I print with damp filament without using a dryer?

You will likely encounter the following typical problems:

  • Rough Surface Finish:​ Models appear grainy or have visible spots.
  • Poor Layer Adhesion:​ Prints become brittle and break easily.
  • Bubbles & "Popping" Sounds:​ You may hear crackling noises during extrusion, resulting in uneven lines.

Do the products come with a warranty?

Why do I need a filament dryer? Won't a sealed box with desiccant work?

There is a fundamental difference. A sealed box with desiccant is passive protectionβ€”it only slows down moisture absorption. A dryer is an active dehumidification device. It uses a PTC heater to generate dry heat and circulating air to strip moisture from the core of the filament. It can "revive" compromised materials (like popping PLA or brittle Nylon), restoring them to peak printing performance. For high-value engineering materials, a dryer is an indispensable tool for both maintenance and restoration.
